First garden takedown

Published on 30 October 2025 at 09:48

Its been a long since I sat down to write anything. I threw myself into a new role i got and feel like I need to give it back to take care of myself, and they fired me for it. In the process of working I let my garden go, quit working on my real estate license, and quit on all my projects. However this weekend I got back to my roots and potted the peppers, tomatoes, basil, and eggplants. Alex painted my vintage bike, worked on my outdoor project, and talking to yall of course.

I found Jessie which is my 1982 Daytona beach cruiser at a Facebook marketplace find while Alex found a bike to ride to get his exercise in. Since his weight loss journey started hes lost like 60 pounds and I think ive lost 30 myself, a huge accomplishment. Anyways, Jessie was disgustingly painted all black and needed alot of love. We sanded and buffed and worked on her for weeks, and this weekend we finally painted her a beautiful plum purple and teal blue with aluminum accessories. I cleaned most of the body myself but with my ever changing schedule the last 4 months Alex painstakingly cleaned everything else, and since hes the better painter I helped tape her off but he painted her while I transplanted the plants to go inside under the plant lights.

Most of my plants either died from not enough attention, but the tomatoes, basil, peppers, and eggplants all survived. While researching what to do with the leftover plants gogle told me to dig them up and take them inside for the winter. We already have UV lights from when we started the garden and my mom has plants inside as well so they have friends. My tomato plant was still producing tomatoes. I think because I planted that basil right next to it made it grow bigger and stronger than Alex's tomato that got left in 1 pot the whole season. The roots on mine took up half the dang planter, and the peppers took up the other half. Those arugula that grew so tall and I had to cut so many time; there roots were about 2 inches around. The eggplant were spiderweb looking roots that went everywhere.

I have actually gotten to cook so much more than I was able to when I was working full time. Getting back in the kitchen is really making my spirit feel better. Thus my next business plan, to hold virtual cooking classes and menu planning and meal prep ideas. If youre in my area we could do in person, but with all the places I've lived and all the friends I have this could go across the country.

Well I guess this one is less food related and more life update, but with this new time on my hands they be on time for foreseeable future. Thanks for sticking with me friends and Ill be seeing ya soon! Til then Stay Blessed
